According to a report in the Berlin newspaper "Der Tagesspiegel" (issue Dec 27, 1998) there is an organization in Zehdenick that found the Jewish cemetery of the town. The cemetery was founded in 1766 and closed in 1898 due to a decreasing number of members in the Jewish community. The cemetery was destroyed in March 1933. The organization formed a place of remembrance. Short time ago the place was opened with a ceremony. The Brandenburg Rabbi and the cantor of the Berlin Jewish community took part.
