LOCATION OF CEMETERY: On the Judenberg Langestrasse 105.

IN USE: Possibly as early as from 1719 until 1948. Oldest datable gravestone 1737.

NUMBER OF GRAVESTONES: 213.

  • This cemetery was extended in 1834 and again in 1884.

NOTE:

  • The cemetery has been owned by the Association of Jewish Communities in Lower Saxony since 1955. Renovations were carried out in 1961, 1974/5, 1981 and 2000. More than 200 gravestones are still in place, although some are badly weathered or damaged. The last burial took place in 1948, that of Noa Rothschild.
