LOCATION OF CEMETERY: in the woods of Döhren, situated north-west of Beverstedt.

IN USE: as early as from 1786 until 1947.

  • 1980/81 copies of all German gravestone inscriptions and mapping of graves by Osterholz.

NOTES:

  • The Jewish community of Beverstedt was originally part of the Jewish district community of Hagen, who had a burial site as early as in 1786. The Association of Jewish Communities in the State of Lower Saxony is the legal owner of this cemetery of about 1600 sq.yds since 1959. The six members of the Brumsack family from Beverstedt, murdered during the Nazi era, are remembered by a memorial stone in the cemetery.
