(Old and New)-He(?) did not indicate the addresses of which is old and which is new. If there is no Jewish population, there is no upkeep. The "Christian" sections in Hildesheim are very neat and clean. The "new" Jewish section, separate, is quite overgrown (1993). The old Jewish cemetery near the old center was in very poor shape in 1995. Most of the stones were overgrown, badly weathered, with some stacked against the walls.
