Coat of arms of Borgentreich51°34' N 9°15' E, 188.0 miles WSW of Berlin. Borgentreich is a municipality in Höxter district. 20 km S of Brakel and 10 km NE of Warburg, the community of Borgholz lies on the foothill of a high ridge NE of Borgentreich (main town). Population: 1719: 7; 1794: 18 families; 1802: 76; 1840: 104; 1870: 69. Synagogue. During the 19th Century. eased their meaning. 1925: 21 Jews. The border town used as a trading post, 19th century synagogue destroyed. [Sep 2012]

Old Cemetery: City Borgentreich, Höxter. Formerly the "Jden Hagen", before Lehmtor, part of the outer rampart walls.
Used probably late 19 Century about 1882. No visible gravestones. After desecration of the cemetery in 1899 and 1901, according to Muhs, 12 gravestones were removed to the new cemetery.

New Cemetery: City Borgentreich, Höxter at the right end of the street "Am Rathaus", access Holt Rupper way (hall 17, No. 187). Used 1882 - 1939. 43 gravestones visible. The total number of gravestones (12) are from the old cemetery in Borgentreich.
