Coat of arms of Bünde Bünde is a town in the Herford district. Alternate names: Bünde [Ger], Buende. 52°12' N, 08°35' E, 12 miles N of Bielefeld, in Kreis Herford, NE Nordrhein-Westfalen. Jewish population: 137 (1871), 56 (1933). The town is called the Cigar Box of Germany. Many tobacco products such as pipes, and tobacco jars are also produced here. The Westphalian tobacco industry is based here, as well as the tobacco museums. Jewish history annual tours.

Old Cemetery: Market Street [Marktstrasse], across from the high school on the market. Used 1828 - 1896, 1896=ceased.
No visible gravestones. Before the Jews of Bunde had a separate burial ground, they buried their dead in Enger .
