Medieval Cemetery: Located outside Simeonstor, no longer utilized. Used late 13th/late14 century. Visible gravestones: None. A fragment of a gravestone from 1345/47 is now in the Mindener Museum für Geschichte, Landes - und Volkskunde . The Jewish community is next to Dortmund and Munster. In the first half of the 14th century Minden kahal provided its own burial ground. [Sep 2012]

CEMETERY: (Marientor) Located "In den Gärten", on the city wall of the NW Marie gate outside the city near the present-day intersection of Stiftstrasse/Immanuel roads. Used probably 1763-1816. Visible gravestones: None. After 1816, the cemetery fell victim to the fortress. According to Brandhorst, in the 18th century Minden had a second, much smaller burial ground NE of Marie gate. In 1822 that was claimed by the fortress also. [Sep 2012]
