Coat of arms of Wörlitz51°51′N 12°25′E. Alternate names: WÖRLITZ and WOERLITZ. A town and a former municipality in the district of Wittenberg, in Saxony-Anhalt and since 1 January 2011, part of the town Oranienbaum-Wörlitz on the left bank of the Elbe, east of Dessau. The historic parks include Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm, a World Heritage Site. The round, restored 18th century synagogue [Judentempel] built by the Duke survives. photo. Jews lived there starting in 1680. [August 2012]

Cemetery: 06786 Saxony-Anhalt (Gerz, Peters). The cemetery dates from 1795 and had a tahara, damaged in 1938 and now a private home. Gravestones were removed and used as building material. To visit the synagogue/cemetery, apply to the palace. [August 2012]
