The Jewish de Saint Laurent du Var community was created in 1970. After the timid beginning, at the instigation of Doctor Maurice OHAYON and at some devoted faithful, it developed and was structured. Very close to its big sister Nice, the community of Saint Laurent du Var, Sephardic ritual, is rich in the 200 families and assures within the pretty synagogue located in the heart of the city that the walls resound with the fervor of requests, services, Talmud Torah, regular conferences and the last duty favored by the existence: a communal Jewish burying ground. Its charm and friendliness gave it, year after year, a certain reputation that attracts numerous tourists, received always with warmth and brotherhood.
