51°25' N 8°46' E, 211.2 miles WSW of Berlin. Beringhausen is a district of the city Marsberg in Hochsauerlandkreis with about 1,100 inhabitants. Located in the narrow valley on both banks of the Hoppecke river and at the foot of several prominent peaks, Beringhausen is part of the nature park Diemelsee. In the immediate vicinity are Diemelsee (8 km), Marsberg (11 km), Willingen (23 km), Brilon (16 km) and Winterberg (45 km). As part of a reorganization of the districts in 1847 the Padberg kahal included the Jews from Beringhausen, Bontkirchen, Helminghausen, Messinghausen, Rösenbeck, Madfeld and Giershagen. [Sep 2012]
